WHAT IS A SLEEVE BARRIER?

What is a boom barrier?
Boom barriers are barriers with an arm made of aluminum, plastic, or wood. A motor, gear, or hydraulic system inside raises the arm ninety degrees to allow vehicle passage and lowers it to prevent passage. A spring mechanism is used inside the boom barrier to smooth the arm's movement and prevent damage to the motor gears. This spring balances the arm's weight, ensuring a smooth raising and lowering without damaging the barrier mechanism. Boom barriers operate with integrated access control units such as control systems, license plate recognition, and ticketing. Photocells are located in the boom barrier and in the fixed support fork that keeps the arm stationary when lowered. If a vehicle or object enters the area between these photocells, the barrier arm will lower, preventing damage to the vehicle or object. The arms of boom barriers are attached to the barrier via double arms on the side or in the middle. Boom barrier arms are round, oval, square, or rectangular in shape.


Types of Boom Barriers
Barrier arms are classified according to the length of their arms: 3m, 4m, 5m, and 6m. If you have space in between, you can choose the longer arm and shorten the arm length. If a support fork or cane support is to be attached to the arm, a barrier with a larger arm model will be preferred. They are also classified according to the arm attachment method: side-mounted, center-mounted, or double-mounted. Based on their operating method, barrier arms are classified as mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical. Their outer casings are made of aluminum, plastic, sheet metal, and stainless steel.
